Working For Us

 Work periods/Season

At Haygrove Sidlesham ltd we employ over 130 people each year for seasonal work.

Our main production period is May to November. The principle work during our production season is strawberry and raspberry fruit picking . Fruit pickers will also do pruning, planting and other husbandry jobs.

We produce strawberries, raspberries and blackberries in glasshouses and polytunnels from the middle of April to the end of November.

We have 2 peak production periods: May to July and September to November.

We produce fruit which we pack and supply for UK supermarkets.

The principle work is fruit picking but fruit pickers will also be involved in other jobs including packing, husbandry work and tunnel construction.

The work is suitable for men and women but  farm work is very physical and requires people with good levels of physical fitness, good hand-eye co-ordination,  ability to distinguish colour and with strong motivation.

Most people start work as fruit pickers but there are opportunities to return in future years to become team leaders, drivers, horticultural workers and to gain additional training and work experience.

More detailed information can be found on the Worker Information page.
